Twelve Mile Lake Dam Reconstruction

Cooper was asked by a contractor to design a dewatering system that could work within their constrained site conditions, yet still allow them the space they needed to perform the work on the dam. Cooper designed a pumping system utilizing various BBA silenced Dry Prime pumps to keep the site dry for months. The varied demands of the site required that the pumps be on shore and would require long suction lines so that the side of the river was available for construction access. Through collaboration with the Contractor, we were able to find ways to minimize the pumping needs for the site, so that smaller pumps and less fuel could be used to maintain the site in a dry condition. This collaboration saved thousands of litres of diesel fuel over the months of dewatering.
